We created the "Useful Documents" section for the Aldersgate site, which allows staff at Aldersgate to upload new documents, and make them available for download by clients or interested parties. Documents are protected from multiple downloads by use of a server-side application which verifies the registered user and then pushes the file out, rather than having a basic download link. In addition this also means that Aldersgate can see which documents are popular, and how many times each document has been downloaded at any time.
The system is completely transparent to the logged-in user, and is as user-friendly as possible - both for end users, and for Aldersgate themselves.
In addition, we completed an "under-the-hood" rewrite of the main Aldersgate website, keeping the current content and design but updating the HTML to make use of PHP server-side includes and CSS styles, as well as some Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) work, cleaning up the code and text to make it easier for content to be read and categorised by Search Engines.
