Barnabus

Barnabus is a Christian charity working with street people in Manchester. They provide soup-kitchens, support, and advocacy services for the homeless as well as going out into the red-light areas of Manchester to provide warm drinks, sandwiches, condoms, and sanitary supplies for local prostitutes. Part of their work is also to keep track of the street people, and provide them with some form of community.

I have been involved not just in the site design, but also in providing imagery for the charity. During December 2004 I spent a lot of time on the street with Barnabus taking photos of the people they work with, both in the homeless unit, and also in the red-light areas. These images have since been used for the website, various literature and in their Annual Report.

Since the initial site design in 2004, I have continued to work on the site when new or updated content was available, as well as adding in new pages and information as necessary, such as for the charity's promotional activities, or when they received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

In 2008 I plan to do some work to take some new photos for Barnabus and update the site imagery.
